As HP moves to consolidate its Enterprise UNIX offerings around HP-UX with Tru64 features on Itanium, the Tru64 community curious about the technical differences between the two companies major UNIX offerings, HP Tru64 UNIX and HP HP-UX. This seminar explore the technical differences between the two UNIXs in influences and evolution, kernel facilities, installation and system administration, devices,filesystem and storage management, resource management and clustering. The seminar is intended to leave the audience with an appreciation of the relative strengths of both UNIX operating systems.
The seminar will be divided into the following areas:

Jan Mark Holzer, Hewlett-Packard Corp.
Jan Mark Holzer is a Senior Member of Technical Staff in HP´s Enterprise UNIX Engineering Group in Nashua/New Hampshire. He has been working for Hewlett Packard (formerly DIGITAL and Compaq) since January 1992. Prior joining the HP´s Tru64 UNIX Engineering Group he worked as a european pre-sales technical consultant located in Germany. Jan has been working with DIGITAL/Compaq products at various large customer sites, both as a technical consultant and as a last resort to help in many disastrous situations. His current role is to serve as the Technical Director for HP´s UNIX Engineering Customer Care Consulting group. He also worked on the TruCluster V5 project team focusing on the cluster migration , toolkit/scripts, enterprise application integration and part-time TCR V5 demo development and support. His primary emphasis currently is large scale TruCluster and ServiceGuard environments and the upcoming deployment and transition to HP´s Itanium® based enterprise systems.He can be reached via email at jmh@hp.com.
